AFTER ANTI-FLAG'S ONLINE RELEASE... ANOTHER US ROCK GROUP WRITE SONG ABOUT BIN LADEN

US rock group Jackyl have written a song about Osama Bin Ladenıs death, entitled 'Open Invitation'. The song, which begins with the line, "I hate you Bin Laden", is only available on the band's official website, but they have stated that they will allow US radio stations to play the song free of charge. Other lyrics on the song include the lines: "I'm pissed off and not a patient man / I'd drop a bomb on Afghanistan." The song also contains a quote from President Bush.
This follows on from last weeks' news that Anti-flag have written a song about the recent events in America. Continuing with their long history of being active and aware, Anti-Flag have made a statement and recorded a song in response to the events of 9/11. This MP3 is only available online...

P DIDDY IS "SEXIST HYPOCRITE"

Sean 'P Diddy' Combs has come under fire from an organisation of black women, dotmusic reported today. The rapper recently issued an apology to the Asian community following lyrics in the song 'Diddy'; however LA-based group Project Islamic HOPE has now been angered by his lyrics. A spokesperson described him as a "hypocrite", saying "he has made millions off the denigration of black women nationwide with his sexist lyrics, yet when the Asian community complains, he immediately issues an apology to their women. Where is the apology to black women for years of being disrespected in his music? P.Diddy has once again slapped black women in the face nationwide."

BAND USE FOOD PROCESSORS IN FILM SOUNDTRACK

A quirky, London-based band are using kitchen noises to create their own film soundtrack. The Sonic Catering Band use kitchen implements such as food processors to create their music they also sample the sound of vegetables cooking. The film in question is the 1973 French picture La Grande Bouffe, which is about four middle-aged men getting together for one last orgy of sex and banqueting before they die. It will be shown at the Toynbee Studios, London on October 21, accompanied by the bandıs live soundtrack.

LES DENNIS SINGS ON INDIE SINGLE

Indie band Frigid Vinegar feature Family Fortunes funnyman Les Dennis on their new single, 'Diddleysquat'. The band camped outside Carlton TV studios all night to get him to sing one line on the song, which is about money-grabbing quiz show contestants. Les Dennis sings the line: "Stand up if you want to win a million, jump up if you want to win two." The band describe is appearance as lending the song "a certain showbiz authenticity". Showbiz authenticity being something Les is very accoustomed to in his permanent fixture as host of 'Family Fortunes'.

LIMP BIZKIT LOSE BORLAND

Guitarist Wes Borland parted ways with Limp Bizkit on Friday. The band's management, the Firm, said in a statement on Friday (October 12). "Both Limp Bizkit and Borland will continue to pursue their respective musical careers," the statement said. "Both wish each other the best of luck in all future endeavors."
Borland, always regarded as somewhat of an outsider in the group, and by his own admission in past interviews with NME, was nevertheless second only in popularity to Fred Durst, with a number of devoted websites. Earlier this year he released the first album by his solo project Big Dumb Face, 'Duke Lion Fights The Terror'.
The Limp Bizkit remix LP, New Old Songs (in volving collaborations from The Neptunes and Timbaland) is still due for release in December. Nor is DJ Lethal's solo album, expected to surface in February affected by the decision said a spokesperson for the Firm. However, it's not known how it will affect the recording of Limp Bizkit's next studio album.
No more is known about the precise details of the split at the time of going to press...

T-SHIRT TRAUMA

311 have recently faced the wrath of US convenience store 7-Eleven, after the band adapted the store's logo for a new line of t-shirts. An outside law firm working for the corporation spotted the offending T-shirt design in July and alerted the home office's legal department, according to a 7-Eleven spokesperson. The notice was sent September 27.
