Hello Song
Sing This For You
I Need You
Right place, right time; there's no denying it that it's the phenomenon that has
ensured the success
(and sometimes downfall) of many a band - just ask Fabulous Disaster. No matter
how talented you are,
how skilful your songwriting, your ability with words. If you're not there when
they need you, you've
no chance.
Macclesfield boys For Tomorrows were the highpoint of one evening where I'd been
invited
by the headlining band who failed to impress. A couple of months later this
their debut recording
mixes Gigolo Aunts (complete with honey warm harmonies and healthy summer glow),
Pink Floyd,
skittish mellowed California punk and unfortunately *shudder* the northern
school of Britpop.
'I Need You' seems to lose it at one point, going off into it's own little world
and falling asleep in
the middle, but the sublime vocals of 'Everything' make this a potential, if
flawed, sunshine hit in the making.
