These stalwarts of the Manchester Alt. Scene do a sideline as arrangers, and hence residents, at the aKouStiK AnaRKhy evenings (once a fortnight of a Saturday) at the Star and Garter in Manchester. Consequently, this rough recording (Arrrgh! Get away from the mic! My fucking ears! - Sensitive Ed) sounds like it was taped off the cuff at an improvised live music club. However, the occasional dodgy lyric aside, there's the sparks of their potential all over this recording, a personal, more intimate Billy Bragg of urban folk, without the political eulogising. If you're ever stuck for something to do on Saturday nights, it might be worth your while popping down.
