In their own words, they're the more humourous element of Manchester's alt. scene. Hmmm... well.... funny... umm... it kind of implies a joke, doesn't it? And I'm not quite sure where the joke lies.

Sofa Bed has to be the highlight track of this ep, a retro take on eighties electronica, but without the electronica, if you get my meaning. Okay, right, you've got the Talking Heads in one hand, and maybe essence du Smiths in the other, and then there's The Beatles in the background, maybe Cube playing with building blocks in the playpen, and The Housemartins on TV presenting a cookery programme - though that's more for 'In Your Element' than any of the other tracks on the EP. And then it's a bit Beautiful Southy, and... Look, Sofa Bed is cool, Monomania is too drony and the lyrics suck, and In Your Element is OK. And the joke? Well, there must must be one somewhere. After all they've got quite a substantial following in Manchester now. That's something I'm not quite sure I get.
