Tsuji Giri is a Japanese phrase dating back to the time of the Samurai. It
describes the act
of a warrior of testing out the strength of a new blade on an innocent passerby.
And so a new
band emerges from the celebrated Manchester underground/alt. scene with a view
to taking their
own skewed perspective on reality to warping that of other people. Tsuji take
the fine line between
the voices in your head, obliterating white noise, riffs and paranoia. So the
kamikaze schizophrenic
assault of 'Halls Of Residence' sounds like you're slowly going insane as
someone turns up the voltage
on the jump leads attached to your skull. But it's the starting track that hits
you first, with it's
frozen fear and guitars that knock you to the ground before proceeding to run a
lawnmower across you.
If this is just a test of what they can do, the force of their potential could
slice your head wide open.
